Hi All,
I installed debian.
# uname -a
Linux z9l002.in.ibm.com 2.6.17-2-s390 #1 SMP Wed Sep 13 15:50:24 UTC 2006

I have some queries... Plz help me
1) Can I will be able to install 64 bit kernel on this machine (As machine
has 31 bit kernel is it supported.)
2) I downloaded kernel and initrd

# ls
initrd-tools_0.1.81.1_s390(2).deb
kernel-image-2.6.8-3-s390x_2.6.8-5sarge4_s390.deb
module-init-tools_3.2-pre1-2_s390.deb

3) But when tried to install same get following error
__________________________________________________________________________
# dpkg -i kernel-image-2.6.8-3-s390x_2.6.8-5sarge4_s390.deb

You are attempting to install an initrd kernel image (version
2.6.8-3-s390x) but you do not seem to have a mkinitrd command in the
path. This will break the installation, unless initrd-tools are also
being installed right now.
Could not find mkinitrd in path. at /var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst line 190.
The directory /lib/modules/2.6.8-3-s390x still exists. Continuing as
directed.
