Bug#882563: golang-go: Please build for s390x

Package: golang-go
Version: 2:1.9~1
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-***@lists.debian.org

golang-go was briefly built on s390x a year but was disabled because
upstream go only supports relatively newer s390x and because it was
shortly before the release of Debian 9 "Stretch".

There is conversation on https://bugs.debian.org/844258 about maybe
bumping the minimum supported baseline for s390x or asking IBM if they
want to invest in getting Go working on older s390x. That bug was
closed because the main focus of that bug was fixed. So I'm opening a
new bug.

Thanks,

Package: golang-go
Followup-For: Bug #882563
User: debian-***@lists.debian.org
Usertags: s390x
Control: fixed -1 2:1.10~4

Hi!

This has been fixed in golang-defaults_2:1.10~4 and golang-go is
now the default Go compiler on s390x. This also means that
golang-any defaults to golang-go on all release architectures and
hence it's now safe to replace golang-go with the golang-any build
dependency for all Go packages in Debian.

Any package that does not build with gccgo-go will affect Debian
Ports architectures only which aren't officially supported anyway
and for which the Debian Ports team takes care of.

Thanks,
Adrian
